QUESTION:
How should we understand the view of Chabad Chassidus today on Moshiach and namely on the fact that they hold that the Rebbe was Mashiach, and especially on how Chabad views the Rebbi as being alive? It’s mind-boggling that such intelligent people, even brilliant Talmidei Chochomim, can continue to hold strong with this absurdity.
ANSWER:
Chazal said that the tzaddikim are called alive even in their deaths. However, this does not mean on a halachic level.
