Question:
How can I explain to my younger girls why it’s important to dress modestly in a way that’s tzniyus? They have a hard time understanding why exposing the body is bad for their neshamah.
Answer:
Explain to them the concept of tzniyus. The lower aspect of tzniyus is to cover the parts of the body that are meant to be kept private. The higher and deeper meaning of tzniyus is because it [a Jewish girl’s body] is like a precious diamond that must be kept discreet and hidden from others.
